The Bisbee Vine at St. Patrick Church
The journey continues . . .
And the Lord said. “You are not yet done, my dear."

Mid 2024, when putting the final touches on The Bisbee Vine, I visited an art shop to have a frame made. Commenting to the gentleman behind the counter about a particularly attractive sculpture, he admitted to being the sculptor. As we talked, I confessed to having sculpted in another life. At which time, husband extraordinaire, Kevin, produced cell phone pictures of me on the ladder working on the wall. The sculptor was impressed.
Returning 2 weeks later to pick up the frame, I was presented with a slab of clay. The sculptor, perfect stranger to me, emphatically encouraged me to sculpt a memorabilia tile.
He was confident that tourists would appreciate an artistic tile representing the grapes and vine on St. Pat’s wall. He further suggested the memorabilia tiles could be offered in the church gift shop. Working with the slab of clay given
to
me by this sculptor/shop keeper, I produced a clay model. On several occasions I popped by the art shop for his critique of the clay model. Yes, the clay looked great, yet I had no idea about replicating it for tile making. “Not to worry!” said my now Mentor…. “I’ll teach you.” And so, he did!
Coming to my house on a Saturday morning, complete with necessary tools and product to make a mold … mind you, not by him making the mold, but by teaching me how mold making is done. As he put it, “I’m not doing the fishing, I’m teaching you how to fish.” How appropriate was that!? I’d like to give this angel/guide, working at the art shop known as "We Frame It", full credit for challenging me to make The Bisbee Vine memorabilia tile. My modest mentor insists on remaining anonymous.
The Lord certainly works in mysterious ways. Evidently, He wants the message of His LOVE and our LOVE for one another to be available to everyone.
Uncolored tiles known as Color Me Love Tiles are specifically for all the "young’uns"... son, daughter, grand-children, nieces and nephews. Or perhaps those of us who are "young at heart." See the "Into the Future..." section for details on how to purchase the Color Me Love Tiles series of The Bisbee Vine and His Farewell Address. Budding artists will enjoy painting their very own leaf and grapes while learning about the Last Supper and Jesus’ command to Love One Another.
Note: Each tile will have John 15: 1- 17 permanently affixed to the reverse side of the tile as seen here.
